ANXIETY DISORDERS

Anxiety disorders manifest as both feelings and physical changes.

Also referred to as stress and neurosis, the anxious individual may experience feelings of panic; a feeling of impending doom, physical tension, sleep disturbances’ hand tremor and eating difficulties. Anxiety may also manifest as a phobia.

The management of anxiety is based on 5 steps.

1. History and evaluation of relationships and employment situation.
2. Intensive Homework Program
3. Assertiveness Training
4. Application of strategies arising from steps 2 and 3.
5. Evaluation
